Not Happy? Change it!

I have never been able to understand people who complain about everything? If you aren't happy, why complain? Change whatever it is that doesn't make you happy...

You always hear on the news people complaining about the government, politicians, gas prices, etc... Well, those things you really can't change directly by yourself alone... I guess if you don't like politicians, go out and actually vote. The government might not fall far behind once the politicians were changed. And maybe gas prices would be a bit better if we carpooled, consolidated trips, stopped driving SUV's...

But my point is this, if you are the type of person who just sits there doing nothing and just ends up sounding like a broken worn-out record - "Bush sux. He's not my real president anyways; I didn't vote for him. The Electoral college sux, as does the governmental system. They are so corrupt and they don't do much anyways except scandals. Americans suck, we're so pushy and loud. We're an embarrassment to the whole world..." etc...
If you have that kind of attitude about living in the U.S. is so awful... Why don't you just leave? No one's making you stay and there's hundreds of thousands of people who want to get in everyday. Why don't you leave to free up some room for them? Stop dragging down the rest of the people who actually want to be here.

Yeah, we may not have the best country in the world. We have our issues, we have our problems. SO DOES EVERYBODY ELSE. Every country has their good points, as well as bad points. People who live in the U.S. are very blessed in my opinion. No one here has had to know real poverty like others have known in 3rd world countries. And women especially are fortunate, we've never had to know what its like to live in a country where we're worse than 2nd class citzens - never allowed to speak our minds or even allowed to show our faces. We hace choices in the U.S. - if you want to be a stay-at-home mom, do so. If you want to work for a living while having a family, maybe even becoming a high-level excutive, then do that instead. Its your choice. And if we don't like our government, we are free to say so. We can make fun of government officials to our heart's content, and nothing will ever happen to us. And if you want to worship the moldy growth in your bathroom, you can do that too. No one will take you away in the middle of the night for worshipping who/whatever you please.

I just wish people would stop complaining about things and instead try to focus on the positives. We all have so much we should be thankful for, and we should learn to appreciate it more.
